Advertising Research-

Pierre-oliver Photography
He has a website with a link that says Love. That link leads you to his Yelp page. There is another link under Journal which leads you to more photos and links to, twitter, Facebook and a blog.  Facebook and twitter don’t have any posts since January 2016. When I clicked on his website blog link from his twitter, it just showed photos. His most recent Yelp review was from June, 2017.  In what I did find on Facebook and Twitter, the posts were more showing work he has done. I didn’t come across any that had a call to action. 

Nicoli Productions
Dawn Nicoli is using Groupon to advertise.  She is offering a photoshoot for $53 ($675 value). Included in the deal is a photoshoot of up to 30 people, an 8x10 and 2 5x7’s.  She uses Facebook more to promote her work with images, but no specific sales or offers. 

Studio Paris Photography-Joseph Stein 
He is using Groupon as well. His deal includes, 1 outdoor family session for $55 ($695 value) including 5 digital files and 2 print images. He has a twitter (since 2009) link on his website and has never tweeted. He has not posted since 2013 on Facebook. 

Effective Internet Presence
Is advertising on Groupon for 2 hours of graphic design services for $34 ($75 value). The website link included does not lead to their website. 

John Riedy Photography 
He has a website and Facebook page. He doesn’t post much on Facebook, but he did post a promotion to win a credit towards a photoshoot.  There were also posts showing his completed work. Instagram showed only two posts. 

Images, type and content is what draws my attention to advertising as well as what is being offered and how much. In my research, I didn’t really see many offers. I saw more of a display of their work. More like a Journal of work. 


I am online more than I am looking through magazines, so I would say that social media is probably the best way to get my attention. I do appreciate a nice print ad when I see one though. After seeing that there are only a couple of photographers and no graphic designers advertising on Groupon, I may consider offering my services at some point. I am definitely going to post ads that have a call to action in it. I didn’t see much of that at all. I may even look into print advertising. I am doing some work with San Diego Woman Magazine and I am hoping we can work out a deal.
