Week 15 Post 1 Optimizing Yourself & Data Analysis

After reading the lecture and text book assignment, I visited the Google analytics for business page and picked out which features I think would be the most beneficial for my business to check regularly and here’s what I have decided to do.

I first went in and made sure I was listed in the Local Business Center. I quickly updated my photos that I had in there and my business hours. For myself, I want an organic feel and my budget isn't very high right now, so I am going to start with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for now.

I am also going to work hard on my blog, so Google will have more pages to index, and I will have created more content for people to link to, which will hopefully increase my authority.

I can see myself using AdWords, but very minimally. I would use them for special pricing to drive business.

Some other items on my action plan are to measure the results of my SEM campaign and my web traffic, researching keywords to use and to submit an article to Ezine (when I am ready).

It will take some time learning, experimenting, some trial and error and a lot of effort, but Google analytics has many features that I will try using and understanding.  Data Collection & Management is how the data is collected. Data Analysis, Visualization, and Reporting is a way to filter my company needs. Data Activation is there to help me improve my marketing.

Some areas I need to check regularly are page visits, how long they stay on the page, how many pages were visited and where I land in the google search. By checking those regularly, I will be able to see what is working and what isn’t.

I know creatively I will have a lot of fun with this, it is learning to read the analysis report and tailoring it to what I need, that will be the challenge.

Cheers to success!
