Determining my target market:
My focus is on my photography and graphic design studio that I run in Encinitas.
Below are a couple of questions that I pulled from an article I read in hopes it would help me narrow my focus on who my target market is.
Who would pay for my product or service? (photography/graphic design)
Adults with children or grandchildren for family photos, children photos, graduation photos/Holiday cards, invitations, thank you cards, birth announcements
Adults that need a portrait portfolio/invitations, thank you cards, wedding announcements, holiday cards, business cards
Businesses that need event photos/branding
Bands that need group and performance photos/posters
Who has already bought from me? (photography/graphic design)
A Mother who needed pictures of her boys for fathers day, the editor of SD Woman Magazine for photos at an event, a woman wanting portraits, a company that needed event photos, a band that needed photos and a band that needed a logo.
To summarize, my target market will be 18+, male, female, any race, any religion, single, married, divorced, small or large family, small or large company, educated, employed, located within 100 miles of Encinitas, in need of professional photographs for personal or business needs and/or in need of graphic design for personal or business needs.
